In addition to the renowned Blue Flag beaches between Bisceglie and Margherita di Savoia, which have been internationally recognized for the quality of their sea, there are several other beautiful sandy or pebbly beaches worth visiting:
Spiaggia Litoranea di Levante:
This is the shorter of the two beaches in central Barletta. It offers various amenities due to the presence of accommodation facilities alongside stretches of free fine sand. This beach is ideal for family fun and enjoying the clean, crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
Spiaggia Litoranea di Ponente:
Located west of Barletta, beyond the port, this golden beach features several beach establishments and long public stretches. The promenade is lined with tall palm trees and offers views of the azure sea, making it perfect for water sports such as kitesurfing or surfing.
Spiaggia di Margherita di Savoia:
This renowned coastal area in the BAT province, located at the mouth of the Ofanto River within the Tavoliere delle Puglie, is situated between the salt flats and the coastline. Here, you can sunbathe on golden sand that turns reddish and visit the famous salt pans with flamingos.
Spiaggia Baia delle Sirene:
A stunning beach located south of Trani’s harbor, named for its bay-like shape and the legend that mermaids once sought refuge here. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, offering fine sand, crystal-clear waters, and a spectacular view of the surrounding rocky coastline. The beach is ideal for water sports enthusiasts, including windsurfing, kitesurfing, and paddleboarding.
Spiaggia del Pretore:
Located just minutes from the historic center of Bisceglie, this beach is characterized by pebbles and stones mixed with gravelly sand. The sea here has a unique color that ranges between blue and cobalt blue. The gently sloping seabed makes it perfect for families with children. Spiaggia del Pretore is a free beach, without beach establishments or equipped areas.
